Bangaluru, Dec. 13 – S-VYASA Yoga University, Bengaluru is organizing its 19th International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and its’ Applications. The conference is from 20th to 23rd Dec. 2011. As a pre-conference program S-VYASA is organizing a HIMALAYA – International Yoga Olympiad. The Olympiad is organized from 13th to 15th Dec. 2011 at Prashanti Kutiram the campus of S-VYASA.
Today (13th Dec,2011) the Olympiad was Inaugurated at 02.30pm in Mangala Mandira, Prashanti Kutiram. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sri S.K.Sinha, Chief Managing Director, SIS Securities, New Delhi. Dr.H.R.Nagendra, Vice Chancellor S-VYASA Yoga University spoke about the theme of the HIMALAYA – Yoga Olympiad. He said “Olympiad is not a competition – but the teams presenting their skills and knowledge is with the spirit of co-operation. It is Co-operation not Confrontation”. Dr.K.Subramaniam, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Sri Guruprakash, Industrialist from Singapore; Dr.Partha, Nadi Specialist and Sri D.K.Mohan, Chairman, Cambridge Group of Institutions, Bangalore also spoke on the occassionl.
In the beginning Sri S.K.Sinha, Chief Guest and special guests Sri Guruprakas, Industrialist from Singapur and others lighted the lamp amongst the chanting of vedic mantras.
454 Participants from 19 states are participating in the HIMALAYA – Yoga Olympiad. These participants have successfully won their position into the nationals after successfully competing at the District and State Levels.
