Prashanti Kutiram, Bengtaluru, Dec 21: In the Opening Session at 09.00am in the International Yoga Conference Dr.Predrag Nikic, President, International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Research, Serbia was the chief guest. He appreciated the contributions of S-VYASA Yoga University to establish the Yoga and Research Activities in their country.

MOU between DDE SVYASA and Yoga Organisation of Serbia: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Directorate of Distance Education, S-VYASA Yoga University and International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Research and International Yoga Academy to collaborate in the fields of (i) training the Yoga Experts, (ii) Research in Yoga and its applications and (iii) Yoga Therapy. The MOU was signed by Dr.H.R.Nagendra, VC, SVYASA Yoga University and the President Dr.Predrag Nikie, President, International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Research, Serbia

Sri Gajendra Solanki a well known poet expressed the idea of love, peace and the concept of zero in is eloquent poetry, which thrilled the audience.

20th Dec. at 05.00 pm in Prashanti Kutiram, the campus of S-VYASA Yoga University the “International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and Its Applications” was inaugurated by Swami Gautamanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Math, Chennai. HH Sri Sri Ravi Shanker blessed the occasion. Padma Bhushan Dr.R.A.Mashelkar, President, Global Research Alliance was the Chief Guest.

Key Note Address on 21st Morning: Dr.H.R.Nagendra, VC SVYASA delivered the KEYNOTE address. The tile was: ADOPTION OF THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES OF YOGA TO EVOLVE A HOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE IN MODERN PRIMARY AND HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM.

The brief of his keynote would be “MODERN SCIENCE LOOKS AT THE PHYSICAL LEVEL ONLY. SCIENCE HAS STARTED LOOKING BEYOND PHYSICAL LEVELS LIKE – MIND, PRANA, and CONSCIOUSNESS. YOGA AND OTHER TRADITIONAL SYSTEMS’ STRENGTH IS IN THESE AREAS.

Second One : The second session divided into three parallel SYMPOSIA – 3 track.

Track – 1: Subject: YOGA FOR PEACE. Swami Gautamanandaji, President RK Math, Chennai was the Chairman and Dr.Andrew Cohen, Founder, EnlightenNex, Boston, USA was the Invited Speaker.

Track – 2: Subject: HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE. Dr.P.Satish Chandra, Director & Vice Chancellor, NINHANS, Bengaluru and Dr.Sat Bir Khalsa, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, USA were the Chairpersons. Dr.B.N.Gangadhar, Profession, Dept. of Psychiatry NIMHANS, Bengaluru. He spoke on the subject of “NEUROBIOLOGY OF YOGA THERAPY IN PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS”

Track – 3: Subject: Yoga and Education. Dr.R.Venkataram, Former Registrar, SVYASA University and Dr.T.M.Srinivasan, Dean, Division of Yoga & Physical Science, SVYASA were the chairpersons. Prof.N.Rudraiah, Hon.Prof. Dept. of Mathematics, Bangalore University was the invited speaker. His subject was – MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF SMART MATERIALS TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF STRETCHING OF MUSCLES DUE TO HATH YOGA.

Session Two : Yoga and Peace:

  • Swami Atmapriyanandaji Vice Chancellor, RK Vivekananada University, Kolkadda presented a paper of “YOGA FOR GLOBAL PEASE – IN THE LIGHT OF SRI RAMAKRISHA’S TEACHINGS”.
  • Dr.Sarada Natrajan, Director, Ramana Maharashi Centre for Learning, Bangalore, spoke on “BHAGAVAN SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI’S MESSAGE FOR UNIVERSAL PEASE” AND
  • Prof. Alex Hankey, Prof. Div. of Yoga & Physical Sciences, SVYASA spoke on “HOW JYOTISH MUHURTA INFLUENCES BIOSYSTEMS: Graha sourced quantum coherence acts on criticality states of regulation”.

Holistic Health Care:

  • Dr.Thimappa Hegde, Director, Narayana Institute of Neurosciences, Bengaluru spoke on “PRESENTING VEDANTA FOR A SCIENTIFIC MIND”.’
  • Dr.Christoph Garner, Director, KWA – Klinik Stift Tottal Germany, spoke on “HOLISTIC NEUROLOGIC REHABILITATION INCLUDING YOGA THERAPY”.
  • Dr.B.R.Ramakrishna, Principal, Sushrutha Ayurveda Medical College, Bengaluru gave a talk on “AYURVEDA FOR GLOBAL HEALTH”.

Yoga and Education:

  • Prof.Mahadevan B. Professor, Production & Operations Management, IIM Bangalore presented on “ROLE OF YOGA IN ADDRESSING PRODUCTIVITY & PERFORMANCE CHALLENGES OF CORPORATE EXECUTIVES”.
  • Dr.Manmath Gharote, Director, Lonavla Institute of Yoga Studies gave a talk on “INSIGHTS FROM TRADITIONAL TEXTS”.
  • Dr.Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Chairman, ICYER and Yoganjali Natyalayam, Pondierchry spoke on “Yoga and the educational process”

In the afternoon 3 track sessions on the theme and poster presentation session were held.
