What is Madhumeha Mukta Bharat Yoga Saptaha (MMBYS)?

Madhumeha Mukta Bharat is one of the important missions envisaged and organized by Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (VYASA) with the support of Arogyabharati and Indian Yoga Association to spread awareness about diabetes and preventing diabetes among the Indians across the country for the well-being of the nation, using ancient holistic approach of Yoga. As a part of it, Yoga Saptaha is being planned all over the country on the occasion of “21st June – International Day of Yoga”

Need of Movement

  • India is going to be the global capital for diabetes by 2025.
  • In India s 61.3 million persons affected by diabetes and it is estimated that it will raise 101.2 million, by 2030.
  • Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions.
  • One in every five diabetics in the world is Indian.
  • Gradually becoming more dangerous than AIDS.
