Yoga plays an important role in the development of total personality. Yoga helps to improve Concentration, Memory, Creativity and the right kind of voice. We are happy to inform you that S-VYASA is offering these four yoga credit courses on SWAYAM portal. These courses are designed and developed under the expert guidance of Dr H R Nagendra Chancellor, S-VYASA. He is one of the pioneers in the field of Yoga Education and Research. These courses would cover both theory and practice components. The objective of these courses is enhancing the soft skills and development of total personality. All these courses are of 16 weeks duration and carry 4 credit points.

Yoga for Concentration
This course gives you an overview of what is concentration and role of Yoga in enhancing concentration towards overall personality development. The course includes both theory and practice components. The main processes involved in concentration are attention, perception, cognition, and response. The mind-body response of concentration moves from Chanchalata (distraction), Ekagrata (Concentration), Dharana (Intense focusing) and Dhyana (meditation). The eastern and western perspectives of concentration will be discussed in the course. Integrated approach of yoga practices for concentration will be presented. We will also cover scientific studies on Yoga and concentration.

Yoga for Voice Culture
This course provides an overview on role of Yoga in culturing Voice. As a component of total personality development voice culturing aims at training the participants in both eastern and western perspectives thus improving the quality, power and endurance of Voice. The course includes both theory and practice components; the theory modules will give an overview of both eastern and western perspectives of Anatomy and Physiology of voice, will enables students, adults and prospective singers to understand common disorders of Speech such as stuttering, functional and organic causes of voice and other major voice related disorders, role of emotions in developing voice and cultivating right kind of emotional intelligence and understanding the conceptual basis of yogic view in preventing and managing these disorders through guided practices. The other part of the course will give a detailed explanation and hands on practice sessions of various yoga techniques starting from breathing practices, specific voice culture techniques, asanas, pranayama, various meditative techniques useful for developing right kind of mindset, relaxation techniques to improve the quality, power and endurance of Voice and by the end of the Course, the participant will also be made aware of all the recent Evidence based Studies on yoga for Voice Culturing.

Yoga for Memory Development
This course gives you an overview of what memory is and the role of Yoga in enhancing memory toward total personality development. The three main stages of memory are encoding, storage and retrieval. The three main forms of memory storage are sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. The eastern and western perspectives of memory will be discussed. Integrated approach of yoga practices for memory development will be presented. It will also cover scientific studies on Yoga and memory.

Yoga for Creativity
This course provides an overview of role of yoga in activating the mind in order to enhancing the Creativity. It helps in developing original ideas and concepts on the basis of artistic and yoga practices. Contribution of Creativity in various fields, along with the ancient Indian perspectives on Creativity will be narrated. Physiological knowledge about brain, its structure, memory formation and creative thinking will be elaborated. This course also enables the students to understand the yogic view of Creativity through guided practices. By the end of the Modules, scientific studies on yoga and Creativity will also be brought out.
